Yes! You can use a sling safely. We want you to know how, and make sure others know how too.

Here are some basic tips.

• Make sure you can see your baby’s face at all times.
• Make sure baby’s head and neck are gently and completely supported, with the baby’s airway in an open/unkinked position.
• Make sure the sling creates a complete hammock of fabric.
• Use a breathable fabric, and make sure there is always adequate airflow around baby.
• In general it is better to wear the baby high and tight, on your chest, not below your waist.
