"Baby wearing"
Yes! You can use a sling safely. We want you to know how, and make sure others know how too.
Here are some basic tips.
- Make sure you can see your baby’s face at all times.
- Make sure baby’s head and neck are gently and completely supported, with the baby’s airway in an open/unkinked position.
- Make sure the sling creates a complete hammock of fabric.
- Use a breathable fabric, and make sure there is always adequate airflow around baby.
- In general it is better to wear the baby high and tight, on your chest, not below your waist.
Keep your baby close enough to kiss!
Not all slings are created equal.
